WHO CAN TREAT FOR MOSQUITOS?

Applicators who hold a current HLT (Horticulture, Lawn & Turf) license, a current C03 (Ornamental and Turf) certifications, including current bond, insurance and charter or those certified applicators operating under the direct supervision of a HLT licensee may treat for mosquitos, on privately or commercially owned properties.  Applicators are limited to the outside only

In order to treat for mosquitos on the inside of a structure, you must obtain a C07 (Industrial, Institutional, Structural and Health Related Pest6 Control) certification, a GRC (General Pest & Rodent Control) license, bond, insurance and charter.

To treat publicly owned lands and publicly owned waters you must obtain a C08 (Public Health Pest Control) certification and a PHMC (Public Health Mosquito Control) license, bond, insurance and charter.

Should you have any further questions, please contact Mary Borthick, Certification & Licensing Supervisor at 615-837-5310 or email mary.borthick@tn.gov or Kathy Booker, Pesticide Administrator at 615-837-5133 or email Kathy.booker@tn.gov

CDC information on control and examples of challenges that PCO’s may deal with in their day to day communication with their customers. One of the pamphlet is duplicated in Spanish for Hispanic consumers. These are public documents and we have permission to reproduce them. I think it’s a great way to use that IPM we keep throwing around.
